The top of Fleshmarket Close as seen from the High Street. Until Cockburn Street was built in the 1850s it was one continuous street all the way down to Market Street.
The top of the Upper Bow, formerly the top of the West Bow. A 19th century photograph of the same location can be found here. (The Upper Bow is the street sloping down by Thistle Do Nicely, the street I photographed here.)
This is the four-ways junction between Lothian Road, Princes Street, Queensferry Street and Shandwick Place. Quite a nightmare of traffic, especially with roadworks.
New Parliament House near Calton Hill in Edinburgh, formerly the Royal High School. This was the proposed site of the Scottish Parliament if Scotland had voted for devolution in the 1979 referendum.
This short truncated street ends on the terrace above Victoria Street, but was once part of the main route between the Grassmarket and the Castle before the roads were all changed in the 19th century.
