The Tron Church on the corner of the High Street and North Bridge in Edinburgh. Archeologist under the floor found the remains of the street that it was built on - Marlin's Wynd, which sloped down to the Cowgate.
Here is Turner-winning artist Grayson Perry in Edinburgh during the Festival. Notice how nobody notices him. People probably thought he was promoting a Fringe show.
Ever since the original venue of the Gilded Balloon in the Cowgate burnt down, Edinburgh has been trying to do something with the vacant space. This year at the Festival Fringe there is a skating park and lots of sand. I don't know if that's all it does (I saw a Box Office) but it is usually just something for people above on South Bridge to gawp at and take photos of (i.e. me).
The top photo is of the old Bo'nes Hillclimb at Kinneil Estate donkeys years ago. The bottom photo is the same place where they hillclimb was recently started again.
