Balmoral Hotel

The Balmoral Hotel, formerly the North British Hotel, in Edinburgh. It's the setting for the movie Hallam Foe, though it wasn't actually filmed there.

Bristo Square

Bristo Square in Edinburgh is where you'll find the skateboarders at the weekend. You can also see laddies videoing themselves jumping over railings pretending to be "freerunners".

Birthplace

This was formerly Simpson's Memorial and Maternity Pavilion in Edinburgh, where I was born. It's now being converted into fancy flats.

Down to the Meadows

This lane leads down to the Meadows and is known as Middle Meadows Walk. In fact, it is older than any of the buildings on either side of it.
