John Knox's Manse



It is open to question if and for how long zealous Scottish preacher John Knox actually lived in this house on the High Street. However, it is one of the very few original buildings in the Old Town and at one time all the buildings on the Royal Mile were like this.

Reservoir

This low building, near the esplanade on Edinburgh Castle, was once a reservoir, serving most of the buildings in the Old Town.

Old Fishmarket Close



This street links the High Street (up) and the Cowgate (down). Part of Edinburgh's Old Town, though it isn't as old as the tourist guides make out. I mean, look at the building at the right of the picture.
